If anyone is looking for a shooter to try, give Dirty Bomb (on Steam) a try. It's in open beta at the moment, but will be free-to-play when it is released later this year. This has to be the best shooter I have played in many, many years. It is by Splash Damage, who did RTCW and W:ET. They also did Brink, which was a disappointing game but which had a lot of potential. Dirty Bomb is Brink 2.0, with cartoonish characters a la TF2. It is extremely competitive! It is objective-based, and has a high learning curve.
The engine is Unreal 3, and is very well optimised. I am maxing it out at 1080p with all the bells and whistles, and it doesn't miss a frame. It has exceptional hit detection. It is absolutely spot on. Every single game.
For an open beta, the build is quality. I can't see them changing this baby very much, because it is so good.
Give it a try. All the reviews are 80% positive.

I liked the idea (and its characters) of Brink alot. I saw some YouTube reviews on Dirty Bomb and it looks pretty good for a free2play game. Lets hope f2p doesn't kill it. Ill definately give it a try
