Hi all!

I've been experiencing this for a while; somebody knows why my fps excessively drop down when Im near smoke/blood/dust/(...) effects?

This also happened when I installed directx10 in my old windows xp, but not before it so I don't think it is a pc problem... Could be Dx?

Screenshot here!

Without FX:

640

With FX (sometimes my fps drop down to 50 or 60):

641

Max fps when I'm out of map (it often gets to 1000)

642

Ty in advance :)

PS: I don't know where do I Put this kind of post... xD

That command does not work :( anyway thanks for answer :)

Any other solution? Any help will be appreciated :)

rename your cod2.exe file to iw3mp_s.exe

I meant which version of Direct have you set ingame (graphic rendering engine). Try set it to DirectX7.

Does this work seriously?

It makes your drivers think you are running cod4, for which they tend to be more optimized.

I have at least one report of it improving fps due to nvidia optimus finally detecting a game and switching from integrated to dedicated gfx card.

Alright so not going into detail it's your GPU that causes it HD 4650 is quite old, I've got a new HD 6450 with 2 GB of vRAM, new Athlon X4 750k Quad Core Processor rated at 4.00 GHz and 8 GB of RAM and still my FPS goes down below 333 when there is a GPU intensive action around like this FX you're talking about.

I just noticed in another thread, that IzNoGod said that the Compatibility Mode fucks up the FPS. Might be the case here?
